Application Developer (Basel)

Description

As an application developer you would be responsible for delivering technology solutions using Java/J2EE in support of the Basel Application. Must have strong Object Oriented skills. Perform analysis and design work, including impact of requirements across all application components. Consider overall architecture when performing design work. Capture analysis/design output within high level/low level design documents. Work closely with database developers during design process. Should have understanding of Relational database concepts, be able to design sql queries and conduct database performance tuning. Create unit test cases, perform unit testing, document test results and perform code reviews. Work with onshore technical lead, business analysts and QA team to analyze and correct defects within the SIT and UAT phases. Work with operate team to support production deployments and analyze post-production defects.


Qualifications
• 5 years of overall hands on software development experience. Minimum of 4 years with Java.
• Should have server side coding experience with J2EE technologies and should be well versed primarily with Session EJBs, MDBs, JMS, Transaction Management, JMX, exception handling, Log4J logging and familiarity with J2EE design patterns.
• Strong knowledge of Hibernate, Spring and AOP concepts and their application on the server side. Experience with XML, Apache XMLBeans.
• Solid knowledge of unit testing with JUnit and JMock and test driven development.
• Strong database skills preferably in Oracle writing complex SQL queries, PL-SQL, stored procedures. Familiarity with Toad for Oracle a plus.
• Performance tuning and trouble shooting experience
• Tools experience
o IDE â€" Eclipse
o Build Tools â€" Maven and Ant
o Version Control â€" Subversion or CVS
• Should have strong knowledge of Weblogic application server and its configuration
• Understands and adheres to full software development lifecycle
• Analyze business requirements/functional specifications requirements and outline the proposed technology solution, including creation of high level/low level design documents
• Participate in design reviews and provide input to the design recommendations
• Participate in code reviews and ensure that all solutions are aligned to coding standards
• Strong written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with team members across locations.
