Position : Java Team Lead

Experience : 6- 9yrs

Job Description
This role is to provide team leadership for such projects.
The ideal candidate will: Lead scoping, estimation and planning activities.
Be responsible for hands-on team management activities including line-management and delivery of tasks undertaken by the team managed, ensuring quality and timeliness.
With the help of the Project Manager, work with senior business and technology managers, to identify business requirements and the associated business case for development projects.
This will also include stakeholder engagement including sponsors.
Manage resource allocation.
Collaborate with other peers in the project team towards successful project delivery.
Regularly track project progress and discuss that with the Project Manager. Interaction with numerous business groups (Operations, Middle Office, Front Office, Finance etc.) throughout the full project lifecycle, and with other IT teams as appropriate.
Manage risk, issues, assumptions and dependencies Coordinate activities between the testing and the development teams.
Coordinate activities with teams external to the project (developers from other projects, support, users and SMEs) Establish adequate quality control.
Participate in recruitment activity â€" define new skill requirements and assess potential candidate fit.
This Role will report to a Project Manager This is predominantly a role for someone with experience of managing teams of up to 10 people and with a good mix of technical, functional and management background

Essential Experience: (Must have skills) At least 6 years working experience with Software Development life cycle. At least 3 years team management experience. . A very good technical background preferably Java, C#, Sybase/Oracle, J2EE/.NET, Linux/Solaris platforms Microsoft Project and Excel Microsoft Sharepoint collaboration tool Excellent email, phone and face-face communication

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills) A post graduate degree in Business Administration or equivalent degree/certification. Familiarity with front-to-back office investment banking business functions Familiarity with investment banking products - with knowledge of derivative products Knowledge of Credit risk function Experience in testing driven development and automation Personal Attributes: Self-starter/Highly motivated Flexible with the ability to multitask; Resilient Demonstrated leadership abilities Good communicator - ability to deal with both business and technical stakeholders
