Position : Software Engineer – Technical Support

It gives you the opportunity to improve customer handling skills at the highest technical levels while learning public key infrastructure (PKI) and security technologies.
Responsibilities
*- Trouble-shooting and replicating complex customer issues and managing them
through the fault resolution process
*- Maintaining customer interaction details in CRM and report on works activity
*- Liaison with customers, sales, product management, engineering teams
*- Handle a set of customers/product issues and calls
*- Ensure customer delight by diligently following up on all issues
*- Analyze problems reported by customers and come up with smart workarounds
*- Learn Arcot Products and contribute to knowledge management
*- Escalate problems to Tech Support management appropriately
*- Communicate and negotiate with customers as required
*- Coordinate across multiple teams to resolve customer issues – Product
Development, Professional Services, Product Management and Sales
Communication/Engagement skills
*- Strong presentation and communication skills, both verbal and written
*- Outstanding account management, follow-through and problem solving skills,
resourcefulness, and attention to detail.
*- Excellent customer skills and ability to work in a variety of customer situations
*- Strong background in Customer Escalations on an Enterprise Software level
product line
*- Ability to network cross-organizationally with Engineering, Support, and Product
Management.
*- Strong background on client side of enterprise level software products
*- Should be a self-starter with the ability to work independently and take initiative
*- Should have good interpersonal and organizational skills
*- Should be comfortable in a team environment
*- Should be able to multi-task simultaneously on multiple issues
*- Should have excellent research and analytical skills to quickly grasp new
concepts
*- Should have the ability to work in tight deadlines and working with other
members of the same team and with various departments
*- Experience with developing training materials and documentation development is
preferred.
Technical skills
*- Ability to work across multi-geographic groups and time zones
*- Experience in one or more of Perl, C or UNIX shell scripting
*- System level experience with, Windows 2000 and/or Windows XP as well
UNIX (one or more of Solaris, HP-UX or Linux)
*- Strong command of UNIX kernel debugging tools & techniques
*- Basic to advanced understanding of as many of the following technologies like:
- Web Servers, Application Servers, Web Standards such as HTML, XML
- Communication standards such as TCP(SSL), HTTP(S)
- ODBC, JDBC, Firewalls, Proxies
*- Expertise ranging from familiarity to advanced use of with programming/scripting
(one or more of C++, Java, Perl, JSP, ASP) is preferred.
*- Experience with databases (Oracle, DB2, SQL) is preferred.
*- Knowledge of Cryptographic standards would be a plus
*- Knowledge of source maintenance practices
Years of Experience and Educational requirements
*- 2+ years software development in Enterprise/Commercial products – Java, C++,
ASP, COM
*- 1+ years of direct Customer Escalation and/or Sustaining Engineering experience
