GemStone is looking for a top notch C# engineer to join one of our core teams. You will work on low-latency, scalable distributed caching for our GemFire Enterprise Native Client product. The work involves designing and implementing client-server systems, C++/C#/Java data interoperability, providing scalable and load-balanced services with high-availability. We need someone with experience in these areas, with a good ground in C# object-oriented programming, thorough understanding of .NET and interfacing with 3rd party .NET components, multithreaded programming, data structures, algorithms, socket programming, and familiarity with C++ programming.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: - You will participate in specification, design, implementation, validation, evangelism and support of new features in the product, as well as improving existing features and product performance.
You will apply your knowledge of low-latency, scalable distributed systems, making innovative additions and changes to the GemFire product.
You will work with a core engineering team, using Agile engineering practices on a daily basis.
You will periodically help others (eg field engineers, QA, business development) to adapt our software to customer needs (infrequent travel may be required).
You will work with technical writers and trainers to document your work.
You will work with the regression engineering and performance engineering team to help qualify product releases.
You will be expected to periodically share knowledge of your work with other engineering teams.
As part of your tasks you are comfortable working across languages â€" Java and C#.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Degree from reputable institute.5+ years experience in Java server-side development. Excellent understanding of concurrent and multi-threaded programming. Deep knowledge in algorithms. Good profiling and debugging skills. Experience with Jprobe & other profiling tools a plus. Knowledge of the RMI, TCP/IP, NIO protocols. Experience with tuning of JVMs. Exposure to JVMs from various vendors on different Operating Systems is a plus.
