Essential Skills:
Essential Experience: (Must have skills)
• 3-5 years of supporting mission critical and time critical applications in an investment banking environment
• Proven analysis skills in a first level support function and the ability to effectively liaise with business users
• Have desk side support and strong operations/support process knowledge
• Working knowledge of C# and C++ programming language.
• Knowledge of relational databases â€" Oracle and SQL Server

Supplementary Experience: (Useful additional skills)
• Familiarity with front-to-back office investment banking business functions
• Familiarity with investment banking products - with detailed knowledge of FX and FXO products

Experience:
• 3+ years of supporting mission critical and time critical applications in an investment banking environment

Minimum Academics:
Educational Qualification: A qualification from an Engineering College, MCA (honours/ 1st class)

Role:
The ideal candidate will:
• Provide reactive as well as proactive support service to users (in London and New York mainly). The candidate needs to be on-site during the user working hours â€" will primarily be London afternoon and New York operational hours.
• Liaise with development team to ensure that users get support on detailed application queries and ensuring work is prioritised and delivered to high standards
• Be the first point of service contact for the business â€" escalate issues appropriately (including IS&C ones) to ensure a good IT support service.
• Carry out regular operational checks for all key systems to ensure that scheduled processes complete successfully and in a timely manner. Perform recovery actions as necessary.
• Manage system incidents providing timely escalation/recovery actions and management communication.
• Document all incidents and produce/contribute to the production of regular management reporting.
• Act as the interface between users and other technology service suppliers with regard to the production operation of systems. Technology service suppliers include; other GBM technology teams, Group IT and external suppliers.
This Role has a task reporting into the team lead/manager.
This is predominantly a role for someone with experience of delivering high levels of customer support and service. The candidate must be an effective team player.
