Job Description:

File systems and Operating systems concepts and Storage
-Working knowledge of system administration and file systems on UNIX and WINDOWS OS
-Understanding of processes, client server interactions and sockets (a +)
-Different kinds of basic storage systems (NAS, SAN, DAS), what protocols operate at
these levels – CIFS, NFS, iSCSI, fibre channel
-Understanding of different user level scenarios and deriving test cases out of them
for Storage networks
-File operations with file permissions, file handlers, i/o, background processes etc.

Automation –
-A working knowledge of any scripting language or programming language (preferably ‘C’).
-If scripting is not available, programming and logical concepts for problem solving.
The approach to problem solving must be demonstrated if given a situation. Candidate must
at least be able to write a pseudo-code in a logical manner for a given problem.
-If there is an exposure to automation, then knowledge of how common, re-usable
frameworks can be designed. (how you derive common functions, libraries, data sets etc)– This is a desirable here

Testing
-Knowledge of the Test life cycle beginning from test plans, test design, test case
development, test execution and test reporting. Awareness of what is done at each stage.
-Test case development – creativity and coverage for any given scenario.
-Defect tracking – from filing of a defect to closure – what are the steps involved
(to have an idea of a process flow).
-Black box and white box testing – When each one is done.
