About Product/Project:
Have you ever wondered what it's like to manage e-mail accounts that number in the hundreds of millions and storage measured in tens of petabytes? Yahoo! Mail is one of the world's largest Internet e-mail providers and provides a dynamic, challenging work environment.
Job Responsibilities:
The Yahoo! Mail team is looking for an experienced, creative, and talented engineer to work on Yahoo! Mail backend infrastructure.
Minimum Job Qualifications:
We are looking for the following:
• Professional software engineer with a record of shipping excellent product
• Clear thinker and excellent problem solver, with creative contributions in an enterprise or system-level environment
• Meticulous, self-motivated, and able to multi-task in a fluid environment; comfortable with modern software development methodologies
• Reputation for clear and transparent communication, to team members, peers, and management
• Able to work effectively with object-oriented design and C++, able to read and understand other people’s code as easily as you write your own.
• BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent with 6-10 years of experience in software engineering.
Preferable Job Qualifications:
Experience with Java and scripting languages such as shell and Perl would be a plus.
