| Software Engineer Job Description: Our client has an urgent need for a Software Development Engineer. The Software Development Engineer will participate in cross-functional engineering team to create new digital communications products for vehicle applications.
As part of the team, the successful candidate will participate in the following; the new product development introduction process, creation and maintenance of the system software architecture, project planning, and detailed software design and software implementation. Included in these duties is the creation and modification of embedded firmware, device drivers, applications, test programs, and diagnostics. Additionally, the successful candidate will be participating, in failure and root cause analysis.
BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE
A BS in Engineering, Computer Science, related physical science or equivalent experience is required.
Experience preferred with;
-Applications development for Linux /Unix operating system
-Assembly, C, C++ and or Java
-GNU C/C++, tools, utilities and debuggers
-Real time applications
-TCP/IP Socket programming
-The networking stack
-Linux and Windows device drivers
-Linux and Windows applications
-Microprocessor hardware and peripheral interface
-Proficiency with debuggers, oscilloscopes and test equipment
-Digital signal processing algorithms
-Strong analytical and computational skills
-Visual C++, MFC, .NET, Visual Basic and C#
-Serial communications, asynchronous and synchronous
